What would you
like to know?

Do I need to share a room with other people?

This venue offers only shared bedrooms. The participants will be accommodated in 4 bungalows, each consisting of one shared room with 3 beds, a toilet, and a bathroom with a shower.

When is the check-in and check-out?

Check-in starts on the 13 November evening.
We will have dinner together and time to rest after the travel. Practice will start the next day in the morning.

Check-out is on the 20 November at noon.
We will have morning practice followed by breakfast together, and time to get ready for an upcoming travel.

Which airport do I fly to?

Depending on where you're flying from, you can fly either to the main Costa Rican airport – Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO), or to the small local airport – Limon International Airport (LIO).

How do I get from the airport to the venue?

There are several options to get to and from the venue:
1. You can book a shared shuttle from Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) or hotels located in San Jose. The price per person is 55 USD. The shared shuttle leaves at 5.30 a.m. and 2 p.m., every day.
2. You can book a shared shuttle from Limon International Airport (LIO). The price is 22 USD. The shared shuttle leaves at 7.20 a.m., 12.30 p.m., and 3.10 p.m.
3. We could also arrange a private shuttle for 250 USD from the San Jose area and 80 USD from Limon airport. Please contact us if you need assistance with the booking.

Can I come earlier or stay longer?

If the venue has vacant beds, you can come earlier or stay longer. Please contact us in order to plan your extra nights.

Can I come with my partner/family?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to bring along a partner or family to the retreat if they won't be joining the training. Though you could all book accommodation in one of the neighboring locations we recommend staying with the group to get the full experience and benefit the most.

Can I order a special diet?

It is possible to order a vegan or gluten-free diet. To do so, please let us know in advance.

What medical conditions exclude from the training?

Unfortunately you can't join the retreat if you're pregnant. If you have any medical conditions, please consult your doctor for approval.

Do I need to buy insurance?

Yes, to join the retreat it's obligatory to buy travel and health insurance that will cover you in case of emergencies and also in case of covid disturbances in your travel. We recommend for example online insurance with Safety Wings or World Nomads. Please check the terms and conditions individually.

What should I bring with me?

Besides your regular traveling items and comfortable clothes for training, don't forget to bring your favourite mosquito repellent, water bottle, waterproof coat, comfortable sports shoes for hikes, and a beach towel.

What's the difference between the morning and the afternoon practice?

In the mornings we will do a restorative practice based on slow Calligraphy Elbow movements, and in the afternoon will do a more dynamic, active training where will we add speed and power to the sequences.

Can I join if I've never done any training before?

Yes, this training is suitable for both beginners as well as experienced practitioners.

What happens if there is a new Covid related lockdown?

Until now, Costa Rica was one of the countries that hadn't decided to lockdown because of Covid-19. Also until now, vaccines were volitional and they were not required upon entry (during the Covid-19 restrictions, for unvaccinated travellers medical insurance was required). However, we suggest that participants purchase insurance that will cover them in the case of the lockdown scenario. Please check the current requirements both for your country of residence and as well as for Costa Rica. We will also keep you informed about any new regulations.

What are the entrance requirements for Costa Rica?

Starting April 1, the temporary immigration measures for entering Costa Rica – put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic – are repealed.
At the moment the basic entry requirements are:
– A return flight ticket is needed when entering Costa Rica.
– A valid passport as well as proof of their intent to exit the country before their visa or entry stamp expires, usually within 90 days.
Some entry requirements might be specific to your country of departure – please check the regulations that apply to you.

What are the Terms and Conditions of the Retreat?

Please find it under the following link Terms and Conditions and read it carefully before making your reservation.
