By booking and attending a Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions:
The retreat cost includes the Calligraphy Elbow course, accommodation, meals and
refreshments during your stay. Travel (also plain tickets) to and from the retreat is not included in the price.
It is strongly advised for all our guests to arrange Health/Personal Accident and
Travel/Cancellation Insurance when booking the retreat and we recommend that you
take time to research a company that suits you personally. The unexpected can always happen
so please take care of your insurance that guarantees healthcare in Costa Rica, accident
consequences and travel cancellation.
– A 30 % deposit is required for each retreat booked.
– This deposit is taken upon booking the retreat. Spaces are not confirmed without deposit
payment. The remaining balance is due 31 days prior to the start of the retreat.
– If the retreat is booked less than 31 days in advance, the deposit facility will not be available
and the full amount will need to be paid when booking.
– Failure to pay the balance on the set due date, will mean that your place is NOT secured and
will be offered to a waiting list.
– Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat is not liable under the circumstances of natural disaster,
war, pandemic, failure by the venue or other situation that is out of Calligraphy Elbow Female
Retreat control. Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat will do its best to sort alternative
arrangements, depending on the scale of the situation.
We reserve the right to ask participants to leave the retreat if their behaviour is disruptive to
the running of the retreat or other participants or staff. If you withdraw from the retreat at any
time or if you are requested to leave due to disruptive behaviour, no part of the retreat fee
shall be refunded. In the case of our decision to ask you to leave, all matters arising from a
dispute are subject to Costa Rican law and are subject to the jurisdiction of the Costa Rican
courts.
Please note that because Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat is limited to a small number of
students, to allow for a more personable, intimate experience. Our cancellation policy is in
place to help guests and us alike work together sharing expenses that may arise from
unexpected cancellations.
The cancelation Policy is based on the following principles:
– Full payment due 31 days before start date of any retreat.
– Hold deposit is transferable to another attendee.
– If the cancellations occur within more than 60 days before the start date of any retreat,
the customer is entitled to a refund of the entire amount paid.
– If the cancellations occur between 60 to 31 days before the start date of any retreat, the
30% hold deposit is non-refundable.
– Cancellation requests submitted within 30 days or less to the retreat date, 50% of the total
amount, minus the deposit, will be refunded.
We understand that no one books a retreat with the intention of canceling it, but unexpected
events do occur, so please consider purchasing travel insurance and that it is your
responsibility to read and understand our cancellation policies.
Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal
emergencies. No refunds or credits for failure to attend or failure to complete the retreat, or
for arriving late or leaving early. We recommend that you purchase your own travel
insurance.
Travel Insurance can protect you in case:
– you cancel your participation in the retreat,
– retreat is canceled due to above-mentioned situations,
– lost baggage,
– medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become ill or injured.
We reserve the right to cancel retreats with inadequate participant interest, in which case all
money paid to Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat will be refunded. Notification of
cancellation will occur at least 31 days prior to the retreat start date. We cannot compensate you
for airfare or travel costs incurred. To cover these risks, we highly recommend you purchase
travel insurance.
Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat cannot be held responsible for any personal expenses, such
as airline tickets due to changes in itineraries or retreat cancellations.
We do NOT accept any liability for:
– Cancellations, delays or changes caused by war, threat of war, terrorist actions or
threats, closure of airports, civil strike, industrial action, natural disasters, technical
problems to transport, staff cancellations, weather or other events beyond our control.
– Loss of, or damage to, personal property of participants.
– If you have had any major physical or emotional illness within the past 5 years, or are
under medical or psychiatric supervision, you must notify us of the details at the time
of booking and, where appropriate, enclose a doctor’s certificate of fitness to travel.
Non-disclosure of relevant information can invalidate your insurance and cancel our
contractual obligation to you.
– For severe food allergies please notify us in a separate email highlighting the issue. We
do our best to cater for all dietary requirements but we cannot guarantee cross
in the kitchen. In the case of severe allergies a separate disclaimer will have to be signed.
Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat and all persons involved (hereinafter referred to
as "AGENTS") act only in the capacity as AGENTS for the participant in all matters connected
with travel, sight-seeing journeys and transportation, and as AGENTS hold themselves free of
responsibility for any damage occasioned by any cause. AGENTS will not be responsible for
any damages or expenses or inconveniences caused by late departures or change of schedule,
strikes or to their conditions, nor will be responsible for loss or damage to baggage or any of
the participant's belongings.
All prices quoted are correct at the time of the retreat, including the cost of operation of the journeys,
and are subject to currency changes.
AGENTS shall not be responsible for personal injury, death, accident, delay, loss, damage, irregularity or property damage as a result of force majeure or for any other losses or damages incurred by any person or journey participants caused by any delay or change of itinerary or arising out of any act, including, but not limited to, any act of negligence, any person acting for or on behalf of AGENTS for transportation, accommodation or sight-seeing provider or any other person or entity rendering any of these services or accommodations being offered in connection with this journey.
This agreement supersedes all previous oral or written communications, representations, or
agreements between the parties. Participants assume the risk involved when participating in a
wellbeing retreat, foreign travel, and any and all activities and/or pursuits voluntarily
undertaken while participating in the retreat.
Participants agree that any and all disputes between Participants and Calligraphy Elbow
Female Retreat shall be governed by Costa Rican law.
Participants agree to mediate any and all disputes prior to the institution of any litigation. In regard to the stay during Calligraphy Elbow Female Retreat, AGENTS will provide safe, careful instruction and safe premises, but ask that each participant to take personal responsibility for their own self-care and (in the
unlikely case) for any injuries incurred during a course.
Modifications are given to students with specific needs. If participants are unsure of their
physical ability due to previous injuries, they should seek the advice of a healthcare
practitioner beforehand.
Agreeing to Liability Wavers is obligatory. You will be asked to sign a copy upon arrival.
Please always make sure that we are aware of any health issues which might affect your practice (eg
recent surgery, injuries, current chronic conditions, pregnancy etc). If you are in doubt as to
your fitness, please consult your physician beforehand.
You understand that Calligraphy Elbow and Calligraphy Health System is a breath and movement centered practice, that includes fast and slow physical movements as well as opportunities for relaxation, neuromuscular re-education and stress relief. As with any physical activity, the risk of injury
is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. If you experience any pain or discomfort, you
will listen to your body, adjust your posture and ask for support from the instructor. You will inform
the instructor of any ill health (injuries, surgery, chronic conditions, pregnancy etc).
Calligraphy Elbow and Calligraphy Health System is not a substitute for medical attention,
examination, diagnosis or treatment. Calligraphy Elbow and Calligraphy Health System is not
recommended and not safe under certain medical conditions, like pregnancy. You affirm that you alone are responsible to decide whether to practice it. You hereby agree to irrevocably release and waive
any claims that you have now or hereafter against Emilia Zalewska. If in any doubt about your
health you will consult your doctor.
